This subject is designed to give you a glimpse of the theological richness and depth of John's Gospel. It serves to present to you John's account of who Jesus is, such that you will come to know and love him more. We hope that by undertaking this unit, you will be equipped to explain John's Gospel to others and apply it to your life and ministry.
This subject is presented by Britt Cicognani, Larissa Ocampo and Sharon Cooper – who are all current Ridley College students (or recent graduates). They developed this content with the assistance of Ridley faculty members Dr Michael Bird and Dr Diane Hockridge.
Britt Cicognani is a Discipleship Minister at City on a Hill, Melbourne. She grew up in Sydney and worked as an Occupational Therapist before moving to Melbourne to continue theological study and take up a role at City on a Hill. Britt has an Advanced Diploma of Bible, Mission and Ministry from Moore Theological College and is currently completing a Bachelor of Theology at Ridley College.
Britt is passionate about Christmas, breakfast buffets, and sunny weather. However, she is most passionate about Jesus and delights in seeing people come to know and love him more.
Larissa Ocampo was born and raised in Melbourne, Victoria. She lives with her husband, their energetic toddler, and an elderly greyhound in Melbourne's north; all of whom keep her on her toes in the best possible way. Driven by a desire to create positive change in the world through storytelling, she spent years working in non-profit communications. Eventually she saw that in vocational ministry she could participate in the eternal change that happens as people take up their part in God’s global gospel story.
Larissa currently serves as the Discipleship Minister at St Jude’s UniChurch. She's passionate about seeing women and men respond to Jesus's call to pick up their cross and follow him. She loves opening God’s Word and walking alongside others as they walk together after Jesus. Outside of her work, she loves nothing more than good coffee, hunting for gems in op shops, and racking up her step-count as she chases after her son.
Sharon Cooper is an educator, artist, and ministry practitioner committed to the authority and transformative power of the gospel. A graduate of Ridley College, she holds qualifications in both theology and finance, and currently serves as the Partnership Support Program Manager at Church Missionary Society Victoria.
Sharon is passionate about helping individuals and churches engage deeply with scripture, where they encounter Jesus and are formed in worship, mission, and daily life. Her creative background and cross-cultural perspective enrich her teaching; she loves to nurture spaces of worship, mission, and community. Sharon and her husband Greg love being part of City on a Hill Melbourne.
